Girl Cheese
The other day I was making lunch for Aidan, only I didn't know what I should make. So, I asked him: "Aidan, what do you want to eat?"
"Grl cheese," he replied.
"Cheese?" I didn't understand. "Grilled Cheese?" I guessed again.
"No," Aidan answered. "Grl cheese." This time he signed it for me, to help me understand. And what did he sign? Girl Cheese.
Yes, girl cheese, which turns out to be grilled cheese, so I was right after all, but I guess I just don't know how to say it properly.

More Signs
Aidan loves his Signing Time DVDs. He will ask specifically for them by signing "signing time". He has picked up signs from the DVDs such as: cheese; cereal; candy; like; cry; and wash hands.
Now this might be one of our last signing entrys. He signing and talking so much that it is hard to keep up with him. You'll just have to visit soon to see him sign and hear him talk :)

Something new everyday
Aidan got a postcard today from Grandpa Bob and Grandma Jackie. Since it was addressed to Aidan specifically, we read it to him and then let him play with it. The picture of the card was of Zion National Park, and Aidan kept pointing at it, and then started signing something. At first I thought he was signing "hot," which is done by putting your hand near your mouth and then pulling it away, as though you are pulling something hot out of your mouth.
Well, the picture sort of looked like the weather at Zion Nation Park could be hot, so I thought that's what he was signing. But as I looked closer, I realized that he was signing something else....
Grandma
and Grandpa
He has also been recently signing:
doll
wait
uncle

Aidan's Light
Aidan has learned to sign "light" (his new favorite sign — he'll show it off whenever he can) and is frequently using the sign for "more." Sometimes we just don't know what he wants more of, but he's trying to tell us. The easiest way is for him to point at the object that he wants more of, but sometimes that object is far away, and he can be imprecise about what he's pointing at....
So, to help us even more, he'll say something to go along with his pointing, usually "dip," or "deip." Pretty much everything in the house is now a "dip," although he sounds like he's almost saying "kitty" — although he may be saying "dippy," which may be his own editorial....
